A brief history

Surrey Reformed Baptist Church is an outreach of an established Reformed Baptist church, Free Grace Baptist Church (FGBC) in Chilliwack, BC.  For many years, it had been the desire of the leadership and members of FGBC to see another Reformed Baptist witness commence in the BC Lower Mainland, west of the Fraser Valley. To that end, in September 2016 the first Surrey Reformed Baptist Bible Study took place in a private home in South Surrey, led by Pastor Jim Butler.  As was broadcast at the time “this Bible study represents the first step in an initiative to plant a Reformed Baptist church in this general area.”

On June 20, 2017 the first public Reformed Baptist Bible Study commenced in South Surrey, under the leadership of Pastor Mike Kirkpatrick, a graduate of Westminster Seminary California, representing another significant phase as the Church Plant continued to advance in the will of the Lord. Then in September 2017 we moved to weekly Tuesday Prayer & Bible Study at Rosemary Heights Elementary School in anticipation of commencing Sunday services in early 2018.

Sunday

On January 21, 2018 the Surrey Reformed Baptist Church had its inaugural Sunday services at Rosemary Heights Elementary School. South Surrey was chosen as the location for this initiative due to its excellent proximity to many communities, all being within manageable driving distance.
